CALL IT WHAT IT IS.(Opinion)

The issue:

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says her resignation isn't quitting.

The Stakes:

Even her staunchest fans should know this is hardly presidential behavior.

It is human nature to rationalize even one's worst decisions. So perhaps Sarah Palin deserves the benefit of the doubt that she at least believes that her resignation as governor is in the best interests of Alaska.

That's not to say, however, that we buy for one minute her assertion that leaving her job isn't quitting. Casting this as some kind of fresh political approach suggests that Ms. Palin is living not only in the state of Alaska, but in a state of denial.
