Qld: Aboriginal youths charged over $10,000 dump truck rampage

BRISBANE, Feb 27 AAP - Police reinforcements were airlifted to the remote Cape York
Aboriginal community of Aurukun on the weekend to end a four-hour rampage by youths in
a stolen seven-tonne council dump truck.

But by the time the four police officers and inspector arrived, the youths had clocked
up a $10,000 damages bill, destroying numerous fences, knocking down trees, ramming a
police car and side-swiping a house during the marathon joyride beginning at 1am (AEDT)
yesterday.
