NEW TESTS SLATED IN RAMSEY CASE.(MAIN)

BOULDER, Colo. -- Police have ordered additional tests on evidence in the JonBenet Ramsey slaying and in an attempted assault on another girl months later to determine if there is a link between the two crimes.

Police Chief Mark Beckner said Tuesday that he doubts the perpetrator of the still-unsolved attempted sexual assault was involved in JonBenet's slaying, but said, ``We are going to go as far as take a second look at it.''

The 14-year-old girl, who attended the same dance academy as JonBenet, was nearly attacked in her bed in September 1997, according to police reports. The girl's mother interrupted the would-be …
